Subject: Traveling in France with kids.

Question: My kids are 13 and 17. We will be traveling by car. Is there anything we really should do while there? They are not keen on museums or churches...
We are flying in to Munich and coming home from Paris. So far, I am thinking of spending a night in Colmar, going to Verdun, Paris, Versailles, and Normandy. We are very flexible and I am looking for ideas.

Answer: If you are going to Colmar think about visting the Ecomusée d'Alsace (Living Museum of Alsace, near town of Ungersheim), it is about an hour away, south. Your kids might like it; there are farm animals, blacksmith shop, bakery, staff in costume, old cars and lots of other stuff. The last time we went we got a tractor ride and there was a harvest festival. There was even a moonshine tasting, of course that's for you not the kids.
