Q & AMoving/Living/WorkingSchool for our Kids in France

Question: Hi, My husband and I are considering a move to Nantes with our 2 children 6 & 8. What are the options for elementary schooling here; any ideas? We are English speakers, but all of us have elementary French. Thanks much for your help!..

Answer: Legally your children can go to public school as all children in France, no matter the status of their parents, have the right to an education. To enroll them you will need proof they have all their vaccinations and also proof of residents.
I'm not too sure where they will be put, their grades could be lowered if their French is not up their normal grade level. Have a look at this site for more info - EDUCATION IN FRANCE.
Of course you could put them in a private English language school. I'm sure there are a few in the Nantes area.
