Q & AMoving/Living/WorkingMoving to France but need to be near an airport

Question: We have just been given very short notice that we will be moving to France to arrive at the end of July. For the short term (6 - 12 months) we would like to rent and live within 40 minutes of the city center, in the long term we would like to move a bit further out but need to remain near an airport that will provide access to at least London Heathrow (no decision yet on renting or purchasing). We do a large amount of European travel on business so we would like to be within an hour of an airport (CDG to start with). Any information on locations near airports would be appreciated, as would any other specifics you know about (such as rental prices and ease of finding a place). Can I bring my beloved outdoor plants?

Answer:

I don't have any information on places to live near airports. If you live in either Paris or its suburbs, where you live will not be that much of an issue as the public transportation in the Paris region is very good.
Experiences very greatly in finding an apartment, some people find a place right away others not so fast, it really depends on luck and good timing. I would plan on 2 to 4 weeks. That should give you enough time. Make sure you read my article on apartment hunting - Apartment Hunting in France.
You should have no problem bring in your plants to France.
