Subject: Bastogne or not? Question: Traveling to Europe for 17 days this august. We have 1 long drive day coming back to Paris from Heidelberg. I figure about 6 hours drive time on the main auto route, stop at Verdun area is halfway. My son really wants to go to Bastogne but I'm afraid it'll add 2-3 hours drive time. There looks like 3 main Autoroutes : 1.trier-lux-bastogne 2. Saarbrucken-Lux-Bastogne 3. Metz-Lux-Bastogne What's the quickest way? How long from Bastogne to Paris? how long Heidelberg to Bastogne? great web site, it's fun to talk to people in the know. Answer: Thank you for you positive comments about my web site. I would guess that Heidelberg to Bastogne would be about a six hour drive, I have never done it myself. I would also guess that Bastogne to Paris is around four hours. As for a route, on my map it looks like the shortest way to go from Heidelberg to Bastogne would be through Germany, Heidelberg to Saarbrucken to Luxembourg then on to Bastogne. Even if going through Germany is a little lengthy, you should be able to make up time as parts of the German Autoroute have no speed limit. Sign-up for the FREE Americans in France newsletter. |
