Subject: RE four hour layover in Paris. Question: Hi! Thanks for the response to my question. The Chatelet / Les Halls that you mentioned sounds interesting! Is it kind of like Covent Gardenin London? (that's the image I got in my head when I read your description) I checked the subway map site and it's only 35 minutes away, so it should be perfect! I assume it also has places to eat, correct? Otherwise, my only other question is, I know Metro is the underground, is RER the bus system? Thanks for your help! Answer: Sorry about that, the RER is the commuter rail system in and around Pairs. Yes Chatelet / Les Halls is it kind of like Covent Garden, I have been to both and the comparison is good. At CDG airport to find the RER look for the sign for the TVG or Train station. It is not far for the international terminal, as I remember it. To buy your ticket, you either buy it at the desk in the station or from a machine, but I think you need French money to do it from a machine, but a credit card should work at the desk. I would think that I will take longer than 35 minuets to get to Paris, that is in total, finding station and so on. Yes there are lots of places to eat around Chatelet / Les Halls, try the crêpes stands, they are very good and filling.
