Message I lived in Nice for a year several years ago. The main reason I love Nice is that I now have several close friends there, the Market (fabulous) and, of course, the French Culture. Yes, there is a large expat community in Nice and Monte Carlo. Have the U.S.Embassy fax you the list of English Speaking "clubs" and you will have too many new contacts. There are monthly meetings, a large English library, etc. Have fun! I am moving back next Spring!. Can't wait.

Message take a look at www.splaf.free.fr They offer a large breakdown of the population in France. No, they don't tell you where all these people come from, but you can get a handle on the numbers for each village, department, region, etc.
