Message People take thier shoes off in the park because grass feels nice and sweet after a long day of working or walking. A feeling a imagine many French don't understand because in France you're not alowed to walk on the grass? Now there is the question. Why go through all the effort to make beautiful parks and lovely grass than just look at it from gravely paths!

Message Hahaha....well, that's an interesting observation. As an American, I suppose that I never considered it a strange phenomena. So how to explain something that appears normal to us... think of it this way: we go to the park to relax, have picnics, walk dogs, etc. Taking off your shoes and socks to enjoy the grass and the leisure is similar to removing them at the beach so that you can play in the sand.
