The moving company terrapaq took my 500 dollars
deposit and never provided services or gave me
any paperwork. As a result I had to move all
my belongings by plane at the last minute. This
company owes me 2000 euros. I advise to report
the problems to the Police in the 9eme district
as they have reports against this company.

Do no even consider Terrapaq, and advise others to avoid them as well. The local sales person is charming and helpful. But once they have your money, it is almost impossible to actually speak to someone about your concerns. There was a two month delay on my shipment, with countless hassles and stresses.
The whole horrible experience finally ended in early July, after a week-long fight with the U.S. agent, who were holding my things "hostage" due to Terrapaq's non-payment. I had to threaten the U.S. agent with legal action in order to have my things released.
No on needs this in their life. Moving is stressful enough, as is changing countries!

Like the person above, we had a horrible experience with Terrapaq! Avoid them at all costs - what a nightmare. It took 4 months for our items to arrive, with all sorts of unexpected costs that we were forced to pay in order to get our stuff.

Good luck! It is a far from straightforward process...
I would scrub Terrapaq from that list unless you want no end of hassle. We have been without our worldly affairs now for almost a month. We were also charged on the volume measured by Terrapaq, which is 25% more than actually appeared on the manifest (i.e. 25% more than they actually paid for. So whoever you choose, make sure that they don't overcharge you in this way.
One other tip - you will have no end of customs forms and the like to fill in. When you state your intentions for shipping stuff home, do not write "personal" as we did as apparently this is like an blank check for customs people. Use "repatriation" or something similar...
Good luck, Neil
