| Message: | Have just come back from a wonderful 2-week trip to Provence/Cote d'Azur last 2 weeks of March (2006). I am a 50+ American woman (living in Santa Monica, CA) woman, quite youthful in appearance and attitude (tennis 3-4 times a week, no kids, divorced). I would love to find someone in my age range (female or male) who would like to look for and share an apartment or inexpensive house for 3 months (or longer, but obviously need long-term visa for that, which I can get but am wavering about that right now) starting in April 2007. So, for starters, April to June next year. Basically my intention is to see if I would like to retire in France. Was thinking of Nice or maybe Arles--somewhere you could manage with public transportation and no car, altho' would not be opposed to Paris for 3 months (can't foresee retiring there, however--too cold and too expensive). I am quite conversant in French (French people even think I'm French!) and managed quite well even in the 2 weeks I was there. Would love to hear from anyone with similar inclination. Cheers! |

Hello Pat,
I'm a U.K. citizen 60 years old, mother of two grown-up children, walk, swim (occasionally scuba-dive, love the Arts and travel. I came across your message when I googled flat share France :-). I have itchy feet at the moment, and there are lots of places I would like to visit. I have visited Nice a couple of times, most recently when my daughter was working there. My French is rusty, but would come back with a little encouragement. At this point I don't know whether I'll be able to start travelling this year or not -I'm wavering about relocating in the UK before I set off, so April 2007 might be a good goal. My father is American and I intend to visit him this year, as well as a long-time penpal in Ohio.
