Message: I am going to France soon. A European friend of mine (he doesn't live in france) gave me a european cell phone (motorola) and said that I can buy a sim card in France with the phone number etc... WOuld I be able to do it and how much would it cost? thank you very much.

Message It depends on if the phone is unlocked or not. If it is, you'll easily be able to pick up a new pay-as-you-go sim card for about 20 or 30¬.

Just an FYI, French sim cards expire after 6 months if you don't use them or top-up the credit.
