As the summer vacation starts so does traffic congestion on French roads. Every weekend in July has at least one day as either red or orange. The heaviest traffic days are the last two weekends of the month. With the last weekend being particularly difficult as Saturday July 31st is a black (very heavy traffic) day. If you have to travel on a weekend in July try to drive early in the morning or late at night.
