Results for the first round of the 2012 French Presidential Election held on April 22nd.

As no candidate got more than 50% of the vote. A second round will be held May 6th between the top two finishers.

• Nicolas Sarkozy: 27.2% (9,753,844)
• Marine Le Pen: 17.9% (6,421,773)
• Jean-Luc Mélenchon: 11.1% (3,985,298)
• François Bayrou: 9.1% (3,275,349)
• Eva Joly: 2.3% (828,451)
• Nicolas Dupont-Aignan: 1.8% (644,086)
• Philippe Poutou: 1.1% (411,178)
• Nathalie Arthaud: 0.6% (202,562)
• Jacques Cheminade: 0.2% (89,572)
