Eiffel TowerThomas Edison

Photos of Thomas Edison's visit to the Eiffel Tower, September 10th, 1889. There is no known photo of Edison and Eiffel together on the Eiffel Tower, even if the two did meet there. In the second photo below, Edison is talking to many people, one of which could be Eiffel. Here is one with Eiffel's son-in-law and Edison, signed and dated by Edison.
During his visit, Edison gave Eiffel a Class M phonograph. This phonograph is on display in the reenactment of the meeting between Edison and Eiffel. See background of bottom photo.
