Beaune FranceChâteau de Savigny-lès-Beaune
Located just a few miles from Beaune is the Savigny-lès-Beaune Castle, built during the 14th century by Jean de Frolois. The Savigny-lès-Beaune Castle is home to no less than four museums, Abarth Race Car, Aviation, Motorcycle and Vine. All museums are included in the 7-euros price of admission to the Castle. The Savigny-lès-Beaune Castle is great for kids or those looking to stretch their legs as the museums are spread out over a large area that includes vineyards. There is even a small forest with animals.
The Aviation Museum has over 80 fighter airplanes (Mirages, Jaguar, MIG) viewable outside and more than 2000 model airplanes inside the castle. The Motorcycle Museum has over 300 motorcycles including the makes Norton, Vincent, gilera, Velocette, M.V., Rudge, A.J.S. and Terrot. The Vine Museum displays all the apparatus needed to make wine and a many old tractors used in the wine harvest.
Wine-tasting is also available at the Savigny-lès-Beaune Castle as the Castle is renowned for its wines, wine-tasting costs 7-euros per person.
