La-Roche-sur-ForonChalet de Balme
Here are some photos from a hike to the Chalet de Balme above La Roche sur Foron in the French Alps. The hike starts from Le Chesnet in the hamlet of Orange. Le Chesnet is at an altitude of 1,172 meters (3,845 ft) and the Chalet de Balme at 1,490 (4,888 feet). The hike takes about an hour depending on how fast you go.
If you’re really into hiking you can continue on to the Pointe de Sur Cou that’s at 1,809 meters (5,935 feet). The hike from Chalet de Balme to the Pointe de Sur Cou takes a little over an hour.
