Learn French VideosGoing To in French
From FrenchLearner.com. In this lesson you'll learn how to say you're going to do something. My example sentence is "I'm going to eat some cheese". To say this in French you must use the "je vais + infinitive verb" grammatical construction. "Je vais" means I go (or I'm going to in this instance). Then you add the infinitive or mother form of the verb (manger = to eat). So, to say, "I'm going to eat cheese" say "je vais manger du fromage". That word "du" means "some" and you have to include it in French because "Je vais manger fromage" is incorrect and sounds strange to the French ear.
