Subject: Luggage storage in or near Gare du Nord.

Question: I'm going to be studying in Paris for several months, and I'm arriving in a few days. However, for New Year's, I'm going to Germany to visit a friend, and this will be before my living quarters are available for me to leave my luggage. I've heard that most of the major train stations have closed their luggage storage facilities because of the terrorist threats, etc., so I am wondering if there are any alternatives or if you know of luggage storage is still available in Gare du Nord? Thanks for your help.

It is my feeling that luggage storage is not available in Gare du Nord. I found this hotel on the web and it has luggage storage, http://www.relaisdeparis-garedunord.activehotels.com/BEY. If that dose not work out your best bet would be a café near by or another hotel.
