Q & A

Subject: Going to an American in Paris

Question: I am trying to get a short-term paid internship in France though the French Embassy in Washington DC, and am worrying that once I'm there I'll get lonely. Although I lived in Paris for the summer in 1998, I was there studying and had plenty of American friends to keep me company. Do you know of a way to get in touch with Americans already in France?

Answer: I don’t think that you will have a problem finding Americans in Paris. The following link list Americans organizations in Paris, http://perso.club-internet.fr/hwelty/Paris/AmericanCommunity.html. You could probably find more out there on the web. Also you can always try English or Irish pubs, that worked for me when I lived in Bordeaux. Also ask around for the English bookstores, they are always good resource centers. Enjoy you time in Paris.

One of my sponsors, Viator has guided tours of Paris.
