Q & AMoving/Living/WorkingFind an Apartment in Paris

Question:

I am a twenty-year-old native Houstonian and I would like to move to Paris, France as soon as possible. I have no background in the French language or French culture. I don't have a college degree yet. I am actually taking the semester/year off of college to live in another country. I am trying to get information on what my options are. I heard that it's possible to get a job teaching English all over Europe without a degree. I was wondering if you could help me get an apartment in Paris in August, or just tell me what I can do to get information on how to get an apartment in Paris in August.

Answer:

I don't live in Paris so I do know if I can help you find an apartment. See my article on apartment hunting for more info - Apartment Hunting in France. As the article explains finding an apartment in France can be very hard if one does not have proof of income. Try looking on-line at www.bonjour.fr to give you an idea of what costs might be.
Teaching English can be done without a degree, most language schools hire native English speakers without teaching experience. That said I have not found a job teaching English, but I don't live in Paris where you might have more of a chance than I do in Strasbourg.
