NewsletterJune 2008 Photo of the Month – Vide GrenierThis is a photo I took during our local Vide Grenier. A Vide Grenier is a combination garage sale/ yard sale/flee market (car boot sale for Brits) where anything and everything can be found and one person’s junk is another’s treasure. Ours took place in the center of La Roche and a few streets in town were closed. You can see more photos Vide Grenier 2008.Up Coming French Events:Fête de la musique June 21st - Yearly music festival that takes place throughout France, when I say throughout I mean all over the country. Just about every city, town and village will have some type of concert. For more information see Fête de la musique. Bob-luge d'été - Summer Bob LugeNot far from where we live is a ski station that has a summer luge track that we often visit. The track opened on May 1st and I took a video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CimCv7JFUT0 of me going down the track. The boy at the end is my son who found it fun to slowdown before the end.Expat ResourcesA few months ago I sent out a B&Bs in France special newsletter. Just after that, I received an email asking for resources for expats. Well here it is. This list is by no means complete, it’s just resources I have use. Online Thanks to what’s called web 2.0 there are many online communities that have groups for expats. These include Facebook, InterNations, MySpace, Meetup and I’m sure many others. There are also a number of online forums, Expat France | living in France, Live in France Forum and The Languedoc Forum. Here are some email groups for expats: Here is a list of Blogs mostly by expats living in France:
