Message: I just came back from a semister in Madrid and I had hoped that wouldve killed the traveling bug in me. But on the contrary....

Im looking to do around a year in france and not sure how to go about it. Im 22 and just finished my degree and would prefer not going through a expensive study abroad program and instead going there with some kind of job. Ive looked into possibly teaching english or an au pair, but either option is not to appealing to me.

Ive read that some universities are very cheap over there if you apply to them directly and it is possible to obtain a part-time job as a student, so maybe this is the only option for me.

Please help me!!!! Any reply is helpful but try to keep it positive. Dont want my france (marrying that french girl) dreams to end when im at the perfect age for an adventure!!!!

Message You might try looking into working on private and charter yachts that are based in the Med. Try the Antibes/Cannes/Nice/Monnaco area. No it isn't easy but if you are determined and can afford to hang in hostel for a while you can be successful. Don't head down there until about May.

You can also try to look for work via the internet with an agency (just google Yacht Crew Agencies), but unless you have significant training or expereice your best bet is to head to the area with resume/laptop and cell phone. In my opinin this is more realistic than teaching English.

Best wishes
