Subject: Questions about French Pension system
Date: Thursday, July 27, 2006
Name: Steve
Message: Can anyone answer the following two questions?

A. What is the minimum length of participation for the French pension system (i.e. how long do you have to contribute before you qualify for an actual pension after retirement)?

B. If you contribute less than the minimum period, do you get your contributions back in a lump sum once you leave France?

Thanks,

Steve Strazeele, France

Message i think it depends on the nature of your job but unless you're army, fireman, police... it's usally about 40 years. Contributions are included in taxes, you can't get them refund.
