Mont Blanc, Alps & Chamonix Valley from the Aiguille du Midi - accessible via the Téléphérique de l'Aiguille du Midi in Chamonix, €55 adult round trip. Round trip ticket also let's you 'Step into the Void'.
Plaine d'Alsace from Mont Sainte Odile - Free. Another nice (& free) view from in front of Haut-Kœnigsbourg. On D526 road near Strasbourg.
Burgundy countryside from Brancion - Free. Try for April when the Rapeseed (Colza) fields are in bloom. Off A6 Autoroute exit Tournus.
Paris & the Eiffel Tower from the Arc de Triomphe. Adult €9.50, free first Sunday of the month & European Heritage Days. Sure you can get a higher view, but this view is more on a human scale.
Mountains & Mediterranean Sea from the D81 road between Calvi & Ajaccio - Free.
