LyonCar Sharing

In Lyon there are two car sharing plans - Autolib' started in 2008 and Bluely started in 2013. Autolib' offers a 100 cars for short term rental at 34 stations in Lyon and Villeurbanne. With Bluely you have 130 cars, all electric powered that can be rented at 50 stations in Lyon and Villeurbanne.

Autolib' Lyon offers 3 types of cars including one for those with reduced mobility. They are; the small C1/Aygo, midsized (for France) Berlingo, Evalia and Yari and finally C4 Picasso and Verso. The latter have room for 5-7 persons. The reduced mobility car is a Berlingo PMR with a ramp.

Subscriptions start at €12.60 (all prices 2014) for the first driver (€2.10 for each additional driver) per month, one year minimum, plus a €40 sign up fee and €150 insurance payment - returned at the end of subscription. Drivers then pay €2.10 per rental plus €2.10-€3.50 per hour or €21-€35 for 24 hours. That's for rentals between 7am-11pm, outside those hours rentals are free. The is also a free 3 month trial for those not sure about signing up. Sign up must be done at one of the Autolib' offices.

Started in October 2013 Bluely, is similar to Paris Autolib', short-term electric cars rentals. Cars are Bolloré Blucars and Renault Twizy, compact even for France. Bluely offers subscriptions of a week, month or year. Bluely lets you sign up at a subscription kiosk, preregistration is possible on the Internet.

Subscriptions start at €0 for a week, €19.90 for a month and €99 for a year. Then you pay per minute of useadge, €.30 (week subscription), €.23 (month subscription) and €,20 (year subscription). For one hour that works out to €18, €14 and €12.
