AttractionsTriumphal Arch (Arc de Triomphe) Orange

The Triumphal Arch (Arc de Triomphe) of Orange was built during the first century to as a tribute to Augusta. This Roman Arch is a masterpiece of architecture and sculpture. Smaller than its Paris counterpart the Arc de Triomphe of Orange is no less a work of art. Its many engravings have luckily not been lost to time.

During the middle ages the Triumphal Arch was incorporated into Orange's town wall. In the 19th century the arch was restored to its original state.

UNESCO classifies Triumphal Arch of Orange as world heritage site.
